I am talking about myself and what I've pushed on my car so far. I am looking to push it further in the near future but my primacy's are balding Lol., and my maps over boost is currently 9 psi.

Oh, ok. The way it was worded I thought you meant its limit was around 9 psi

Not at all. I haven't upgraded my fuel from stock so I'm feeling it out on my end before pushing it further.

So I'm still tied between a Vortech supercharger and an AVO turbo.

Some says the supercharger gets in the way when doing other maintenance work, but it's easier to install in the first place.

Some says the AVO will require a lot of maintenance.

I'm also planning to get an exhaust system in the future after this.

My end goal is to match the S2000's 240WHP, using 91 gas, with a reliable F/I kit that isn't a headache to maintain. I don't plan on boosting it too much in the near future because it's a daily and I just want a bit more power than normal because I agree with others saying the FR-S is almost perfect if not for the lack of extra juice.

I havw been working closely with them since we partnered on their car for the Modified mag ultimate streetcar shootout. Robispec is tracking more than anyone in the industry and we are on E -85 na with supporting fuel system mods. Inovate knows the 91 octane potential and are almost finished with hot weather durability testing...we will push the non-intercooled potiential

Your "AVO will require a lot of maintenance" baffles me.

Might have misread some info from this thread, but exactly what kind of maintenance does a typical turbo charger kit requires?

To me any FI kit is going to need more maintenance and looking after then a NA car. Your adding another mechanical device to the car. What does more parts mean, more opportunities for failures. Dont mean to sound morbid.

I like the turbo placement on the avo but the extra oil pump scares me. I like having gravity do the draining.

Nothing out of the ordinary if it's designed well enough. If not, you could be out in your driveway every week re-tightening bolts, fixing leaks, fitting intercooler piping back together, relocating the latest piece to start to cook from the heat, etc.

Most of the "turbos require more maintenance" crap is from piss poor turbo kits or piss poor install jobs.

I think once it's been out for a while and the value drops, sure. But he wanted it NOW so the unicorn was the price to pay.
