Did the install last night and the "Adapter Harness from ae64" got an upgrade.
(No more finding or hooking up a ground wire by the radio)
a loop has been integrated in the plug that goes into the unit and the only thing to hook up to your camera is the positive wire and RCA video plug.
Camera still needs a ground but that can be done at the rear of the vehicle.

Sorry did not take any pictures.
Makes the install even more easier...
Total cost was 99$ for the Rydeen camera (shipping in)
ae64 harness 23$ and 9 for UPS ground shipping

131$ total cost, worth every penny.

Is that the best camera? The amazon reviews are pretty crappy.

Which?

I did the Rydeen Duo...it's not as good as the OEM cameras I've seen/owned, but it's plenty good enough.

BTW, FYI, etc....I've always had trouble getting into the setup screen; I finally figured out a way to do it every time.

The radio doesn't have to be off, but I think it does have to be on the audio screen.

'Roll' your finger down so that you press the audio, then voice, then nav buttons in sequence, holding each down as you go. After about three seconds of holding them all, the setup mode starts.

As long as you go in that order, it seems to work every time. I was thinking about adding a reverse 'fake' switch so I could activate the camera while driving (some BMWs allow this) - but I can do the setup mode so easily now I'm not gonna bother.

Did mine today

Thanks to runny_yok for the great DIY write up! I installed Rydeen Duo ZH07-150B from Al and Ed's Autosound. Works great. I used harness from SVXdc. Quick turn around there and worked out great. You will want to connect the two little wires for line removal.

A few things I found doing my install. Removing the rear seat is not needed. I struggled with that for quite a while and finally just tried fishing it through with an electricians fish tape. Once you get the weather strip off the rear of the drivers door opening, pop the two clips holding the panel. One just above carpet and the other an few inches higher. Then push the fishtape forward from trunk just over the amplifier (or whatever that is on left corner) and downward . you should be able to get right down to the corner where the sill panel ended at that rear side panel. If you have a two piece wire like the the DUO, you can then drag the connector back to the trunk to connect to the camera wire. If you have one long wire like OP, drag a string through to attach wire to.

I found a nice little channel on the outboard side of the white plastic part the sill guard snaps into to lay the wire in. Didnt have to mess with moving carpet.

The Rydeen harness came with a lead from the camera with a small connector that the mounting nut could fit over. This plugged into the longer lead that has to head to the HU. This longer wire had a lead with RCA for camera. At the RCA end, there is a red lead for camera power. At the other end (trunk end), there is a dual conductor lead that has the ground wire with a spade lug on it, and a power lead. If you are using the SVXdc harness with power on it, you can strip the power lead at trunk end, trim it off and insulate it with shrink wrap or tape. Then the ground lug can go to a very handy mounting stud for that amplifier you just ran the fish tape over. At the HU end, connect both red leads for power. I suggest waiting to do this until you have run the long lead up to the driver foot well. OP used solder, I used a small 18-22 ga crimp coupling and put both wires in one side.

The 'roll your finger down the buttons' trick for getting to lines setup worked great.

Hope this helps. Thanks again to the runny_yolk

I used Al and Ed's
http://www.al-eds.com/Rydeen-Mobile-...0B-p22239.html
you can find them cheaper, but I hear stories of those being refurbished. This place is brick and mortar franchise, and installers.

Rydeen Miny HD works with the SVXdc's harness also.

I didn't drill into my car. I routed the wire through the grommet used by the trunk release. Mounted the camera by the Rydeen license plate bracket.
