Breaking Stock Header Cat??

Aight so someone just told me they've heard of people taking the stock headers out, breaking the cat, and putting it back in and essentially becoming catless EL to go stage 2 on.

Anyone know if this actually works or how bad it actually is?

You could make it work like many have done. If I really had to do it this way then I would take out the cat and a weld in a pipe to maintain a better flow.

Is it a preface lift or post 2016 car?

The manifold is different in the facelifted car. ( Read Better )

I found the forum thread to this (couldn't think of it being called 'gutting')

And nah it's a 2013 gt86. I think I'll stay away from it because I know eventually I will have to sell the car and a gutted cat isn't going to look any good :3

If you can, buy a Gruppe-S.
I still have my OEM catback / header / shocks & wheels in my garage, never
know when you may need them.
I found over the decades, it's been a good idea to keep the OEM parts. (If possible).

Well, OK.

Doesn't Qatar have auto emission standards?

or

Your brother in law works at the emissions testing facility?

or

You just pay them off at the testing facility?

Nah we do have emission standards, but in general police themselves are quite chill with cars (most of them are car people themselves) so they let things slide (plus there's such a small number of them). We have to get our cars investigated every year. There are a select few, however, that give headaches. It's usually the undercover ones that pull you over and ask for the keys and your car gone for a month ahaha. Usually the rule is just don't be obnoxious and idiot on the road and you'll be fine.

The latter 2 aren't true haha, the 2nd one for sure some people probably have someone working inside but bribery is a big no xD
