Which is just BS. If they got carried away with the packing material it can end up in oil galleries and restrict oil flow.

worst comes to worst, get a used engine which will run you roughly $2.7k + labor. I know it sucks but it is what it is. hopefully Toyota will come through since your warranty is only a few days past due.

Yep, already got a used engine from a 2014 with 39k miles on it for $2,660.
