Best $100 Summer Tire in 225/45/17

If I get a separate set of wheels and tires for the track (big if currently), I would like to go with an inexpensive (~$100 each or less) summer performance tire for the street in 225/45/17.

Here is one I found as an example. I have not driven it, so this opinion is just based on manufacturer info and online reviews.

http://www.onlinetires.com/products/...rs3-s+94w.html

What is your opinion as to the best summer performance 225/45/17 tire for under $100, max $105?

The RSR's if you don't care about wet. If you do, the Hankook V12 Evos are hard to beat for the money.

Gonna have to agree with the others on this one, for an extra 20-30 dollars a tire you can grab some pretty solid tires like the continental DW's, Potenza RE760 etc...

If you bump your budget up to about $150/tire you can get some really great tires.

I would sooner buy awesome 205/45 tires than solid-but-not-great 225/45 tires.

@Black Tire, I just ordered a set of Dunlop Z2, and my Eibach R2 coils should be here soon. I know you're local to MN, and I'd love to get some pointers on tuning and driving tips. :happy0180:

if youre going to get a separate set of tires for the track, get track only tires. otherwise, just use one set for everything since street tires have been closing the gap with race rubber. if you wanted to be fast and save money, you would be better off just getting a top tier street tire for the stock rims.

Pirelli PZero Rosso I can get for $105 per tire, in 225/45/17, that's what I would do if i was on a budget, not my first choice by far, but for the money @220 Treadwear rating

I had the HTRZ III on a previous car. Quite good in the dry, not so great in the wet. I think that only the HTRZ II is available in 225/45/17.
