Shock dyno?
I know that having a well paired spring and shock are critical to performance and comfort. Would it be possible/advisable to get a set of Bilstiens dynoed and have someone figure out the best spring rate given the valveing? Seems like you could get custom springs to optimize performance from an over the counter shock.

The amount of money you would spend doing that you could just go ahead and buy a setup that's optimized.
Like the Bilstein coilovers (two different price points), or one of the RCE setups. |

people who know how to tune and read dampers either work for big name companies, work as tech engineers for race teams, or support a small demographic of dedicated racers who consider 4-5k a normal amount to pay for a suspension dialed in to their needs
the process is expensive and timely, but also personal and the results generally exceed all expectations. There is no need to dyno the bilstiens, there is a general range of springs that they will handle on top of which you need to understand that "tuning to the spring" or the "bounce frequency of the vehicle" is only part of the equation, the other part, a very important part, and one that gets omitted in 99% of forum discussions, is the dampers character, the way the graphs of the rebound and compression plot vs different speeds, as well as things like hysteresis and jacking.
