Hard compound street rubber?
Any thoughts on what would be a good tire in 215/17 or 225/18 for progressive release and easy sliding without wearing super quickly?

So you are looking for really crappy tires that won't wear when you are ripping rubber off them?
Don't know.. I like my tires to increase stopping and handling, not decrease it. Sorry

Might as well burn the stock Michelins off first.

Yeah, the OEM tires sound perfect for what you are describing. My guess is you will find a lot of people putting them up for sale on the boards as they switch to aftermarket wheels/tires.

Thanks Draco and RCE
I will be buying up HP OEM tires on cl sfbay for straight-up sacrifice. Did the same with POS RE92's in 02-04 with a ton of laughs. Lolz in fact |

From what I've heard they're too soft and will probably ruin the car's handling. I've also seen some chunk to shreds. Yokohamas tend to be hard but they may not last as long. So like Draco said, I think you're best off sticking with the OEM Michelins since they're light and harder and should last a while. Michelins can handle some serious abuse.
