engine stalling in neutral
Well this is the opposite of encouraging. I thought I was out of the woods with my e-force install earlier this year after moving over to the delicious tune. I was headed out this morning and my BRZ stalls out as I'm coming to a stoplight, as soon as it get dropped into neutral.
I restart the engine and it does the same thing at the next light. This happens one more time this morning, for a total of 3 stalls. All while going into neutral coming to a stop. Nothing has changed on the car since March. This happened once last fall while I was still on the CARB tune. It doesn't seem to happen once the engine is warm. Air temps were around 45 when I left. Here's my dash all lit up. There are no codes thrown or stored when I checked. |

Elevated RPMs will result in elevated oil temps, very quickly, with no real way of mitigating or shedding that heat without a heat exchanger (oil cooler) of some sort. Likewise, your thermostat is actually closed, if your temps aren't dropping under 190F in this car 911's have thermostats set for 85C; this car runs 90C. |

Maybe my sensor is wrong then, I'm running a P3 gauge reading coolant and oil temps from the ECU. Before I added the oil cooler, I would see it quickly jump to 210 sitting in traffic. It's like my oil thermostatic switch never closes off the route to the cooler. I even replaced the t-stat with the higher 200 degree version recently to try and bring up the oil temps on daily. My coolant temps always read pretty low though except track days as well.

Thermostatic plates never *fully* close. There's always a trickle flow to prevent thermal shock when the flow does get larger. Also, remember your oil temp is post-cooler, so rest assured that the actual oil temp of the oil in your engine is higher than what you're reading. |

@CSG Mike
I was happy to see my Touring86 sitting on my porch when I arrived home from work. I immediately put it on and it sounds great. Thanks for selling great products. |

Edelbrock E-force Owner's thread and FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
I had the pleasure to install the Edelbrock kit on a 2013 GT86 a few months ago. Here are some pics of the installation and a Dyno comparison of the previous setup (intake+full exhaust) with the new one.

Volume is great, still a bit loud at cold start, but not nearly as bad as with the stock muffler. No Rasp, quiet at cruise, love it.
Setup is Ceramic ACE A350 > ACE SS front pipe > Touring86 |

Who make a good base map that's not locked??
I have my NA tune working great but would take a lot of work to convert my map over. I will be doing the final tuning but I need a good base map to start with. I know Edelbrock's map is locked. Does any sell a good base map that's not locked???

You can always get a tune with a quieter cold start! Then it'll be much closer to a normal warm idle on cold start.
