The sticking happens when I remove the line actually. When I connect the line it opens up if not immediately, then very nearly. I'm currently waiting on a call back from Tony from Edelbrock and hopefully he can walk me through what's needed. If there's adjustments then fingers crossed I can just adjust it back the littlest amount.

Mine seems a bit lazy too, like you really have to put your foot down for the bypass valve to close. I'm gonna get the newer style installed soon.

Have either of you manually tried opening closing it by sucking on the vacuum line?

Can I get a few shots of peoples oil cooler lines going to the adapter plate? I have been trying to install a DiY kit, but for the life of me I cant figure out what fittings will fit in front of the massive air box. Got all these parts here and am completely out of ideas.

When i installed the grimmspeed cold air i ran into the same issue. I knew I was going FI eventually so I definitely wasn't not having the cooler so I went ahead and just ran the snorkel for a few days while I cut up the box.
I tig welded a cut out in the back side to clear the fittings and then painted it blank to match. Of course I just sold it so unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it but in total it only took me like 4hrs to fab it up and I'm not anything special when it comes to that.

Yep that was one of the first things I tried. And it actually made me think it wasn't the issue because of how easy it was to move. But I don't think I was sucking as much vacuum as the engine puts on the valve after seeing how hard it opens with the engine running.

I finally broke down and bought some $30 banjo fittings for the adapter plate and routed the hoses higher. Frustrating for sure.

Ha. It seems pretty solid. Figure it has to be if mishi puts them on all of the kits for our cars. I will report back if the car blows up

check the port orientations on the mishi banjos and sandwich plate, the holes don't all line up the same. I wallowed out the holes on mine to port match. minor, but why not?

So I got through to Tony at Edelbrock and he agreed with my guess. It seems the vacuum actuator is pulling the valve ever so slightly too far and wedging the valve closed under vacuum. He's made a note to the engineers to double check the new valves adjustment specs on the new units going out so this doesn't become a new issue but he thinks I'm probably just the lucky one lol. So this weekend I get to try to loosen the bracket and move the assembly just enough to shorten the throw and prevent it from sticking. Any suggestions to make my life easier short of removing the whole blower?

It actually didn't turn it to be too difficult. I removed the throttle body and popped the belt off to remove the ac compressor and had a pretty clear shot. I couldn't really measure anything so I guessed and got it wrong lol. The second time I just removed the throttle body and made sure I actually moved the bracket. It took probably 45 mins total for both dis/reassemblies.
I pulled logs before and after and the MAP is reading the same at idle so it doesn't look like it's holding the valve open at all and now the response is near instant. No more hang-up or sudden hits of power, just smooth hp all the way through.
