Ride quality is mostly down to suspension travel, spring rates, and shock valving. I don't know much about Silvers coilovers, but if the valving isn't good, different spring rates will only help a little bit. Valving is reeeeeally important.

I went camping and just got home. Apologies for the delay.

Here is a print out of my alignment printout.

Here is a link to the springs. I have 6k rear and 6k front for rates.

No worries. I might go camping this weekend if Hurricane Delta doesn't complicate things too much. I get rained on every dang time....

Those spring rates should be able to ride well. Have you tried adjusting the damper settings at all?

I haven't made any adjustments at the moment. Was hoping to better understand what direction to go in terms of adjustments to try and curb the issue of my ABS coming on in corners. The last thing I want is to ruin anything.

Try softening the dampers a couple clicks and see if it improves.

Ok, i'm now looking on a Tein's Flex Z and just wondering won't they be too soft with 6kg spring rate for track use? Surface on our racetracks is kinda rough and bumpy so cars with soft suspension bounce too much. And the second question is will i need adjustable end links for Teins or i can reuse OEM ones?

Any time you're using adjustable ride height dampers you should use adjustable endlinks to prevent preloading.

Yeah, I will take a down vote on my post. This is the price to be paid for not reading a thread in its entirety. To save you the trouble allow me to do this to myself.

Lots and lots and heaps of variables but I was using 6k/6k springs on track (probably smoother than your track but there's a bit of kurbing and ripple strips to contend with) now 7k/6k. I'm suggesting that damping would sort out the "bounciness". I'm not saying 6k is enough for you but when you say bounciness I think damping.

The spring rates are good. Stiffer would be better with very sticky tires.

If you're corner balancing the car I would recommend adjustable end links. Some coilovers will need them anyway (not sure with Tein Flex Z).

I don't have much experience with Tein Flex Z but my understanding is that they are more intended for the street.

the stock endlinks often get ruined when taking them out to put different struts in. I would urge you to have a new pair to put in while doing the work, even oem is fine.

the oem front endlink nut is often rusted onto the endlink bolt, but the bolt spins in the endlink, you have to put an allen in the hole at the end of the endlink bolt and spin the nut off. 9/10 the rusty allen hole crumbles, and you wind up spinning the nut and bolt together inside the endlink.

i have installed lowering springs and coilovers on multiple friends cars in my area and getting the stock front endlinks off is by far the hardest part, at times we have resorted to sawing them off and replacing with new.

it is hard to see, but you notice a small hole in the end of endlink bolt. that is where the allen goes. new endlinks use a fixed bolt inside the endlink housing which requires only a wrench, no allen.

hope this helps

Hi guys,

I'm running HKS Hipermax GT coilovers which comes with a 20mm or so drop from stock. The shorter endlinks that came with the car were installed as well.

I've raised the car back to stock height as I was dealing with ground clearance issues. I understand that the stock endlinks may create a preload on the sway bars when the car is lowered but what about the opposite (shorter endlinks, stock height)? The car drives normal and I don't notice any issues but is there something I should be concerned about?

It depends on the coilover.

I probably wouldn't be concerned for a daily driver. But you can check by uninstalling the endlinks and seeing where everything lines up.

Flex Z are definitely street oriented coilovers. Unless you're super slammed, stock endlinks will be fine.

I was looking to upgrade my 2014 BRZ with lightly use 2018 OEM SACHS PP SHOCKS and springs. What else should I consider other than a straight swap? I already have camber bolts installed. This is for a daily driver.
