Hmm I guess I'm different, I envy those who got higher miles/kms. That means not only did you get to spend more time with the car, you spent it actually going somewhere. I spend a good amount of time in my car, unfortunately its often not going very far and because this city moves as slow as molasses I'm often not going fast at all. If I had a clock telling me how long my engine's been running I'm probably above average, my odometer says otherwise though.

Got mine in June of '13. Just hit 20k on the odo. Low I know, but for the first 3 years, I worked less than 2 miles from my apartment. Longer commute now, but I still go out for recreational drives for no reason other than to thrash around. Still runs perfectly. I enjoy driving in the snow (with Blizzaks of course). 10/10, would buy another.

Got mine in May '12 (First 86). Have a little over 58k miles with about 57k of that boosted. I haven't had any issues with it. I've DD it the entire time too, and love every minute of it!

I got my FRS in May 2012. No major problems but I do have a small oil seep that drips goes onto the exhaust. I get a burning oil smell if driven hard. The dealer has been unable to find the source (or so they claim).

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53949 There's more threads out there about it. Edit: 4.5 years (January 2013), coming up on 60k miles, happy as a clam with the car, it's been great aside from a few CEL codes and burnt up coilpacks. Sure there's things I would change, but that's part of the fun. |

I printed out some Subaru TSB's for 2013 engine oil leaks and handed them to the service writer when I dropped the car off. The one you linked seems to be the one most experience.

Picked up the car on July 26, 2014.... slept in the car with ex-gf driving it back from denver cuz all hotel was booked. lol
so 5 more day to 3.5 year. It's sitting @ 59k miles now. Had tons fun with it in the mountain passes/track , drove the west coast up and down 3 times in it, made lots friends with it & did lots work on it.... Time really flies. Oh and I just installed this beatrush intake duct on it this Sunday. Putting all different mods on this car really makes you smile... thou all I do is pretty much putting on more STI parts. Hit my 5 year anniversary back in October this year, and it's still going strong.
Apparently, the 5th year anniversary gift is silverware. I did just order twenty new wheel studs and lug nuts, so I think that counts. |
