I'm about here also with a 22 mile commute each way daily. I logged a 32mpg average coming home from the coast this weekend, which was right about 110-120 miles. That was with a few aggressive passes, one which lasted about a mile or so in the passing lane and almost everyone got out of the way.

On the topic of mileage, you can improve it since it's got the instantaneous mpg readout. I'm finding myself lifting my foot and coasting more to let that 127mpg instant average last as long as possible. It helps you police your mileage, but it's not a prius, I'm not out for too good of mileage, I bought a sports car, not a Hybrid.

Well, @Tromatic, we drove our 2013 FR-S (with a MT) from Puyallup, over to the ocean and back (256 miles) last weekend and I calculated the gas milage to be 31.2 MPG.

Of course, we had a lot of sunshine ....

Yep, that's a small representative sample ...... however, I have consistantly gotten over 30 mpg on the highway.

I've filled up my tank 3 times since I bought the car and my mileage has gotten better each time. Had 28.6 mpg last time. (Started out at 26.7 with first tank.) Still in the break in period so I've been avoiding long highway drives. I'm thinking that I can probably break the 30 mpg barrier once I drive her on a 3.5 hour trip to the beach in late May.

The FRS/BRZ rear differential ratio is 4.10:1 for sporty performance not fuel economy. A 3.73 rear ratio or lower is more for fuel economy.

Automatics get better MPG because of the 2 OverDrive gears, 5th and 6th.

My logbook has quite a few tankfulls with calculated gas mileage over 30 mpg. So, anyone without exactly your view of reality is FOS?

I get 28-29 in mixed driving. I don't do too much highway these days, but only half of it is really stop and go "city" - my 50 mile round trip commute is sort of in-between 40-50mph roads with not too many stops, but I drive it relatively hard most of the time.

I only have a drop in TRD air filter, so maybe .5mpg at the most is helped by that.

Fuel economy is random for me, usually between 29-33mpg. Seems I get better mpg when using higher rpms to accelerate. Not sure if this is related to the engine being bogged when trying to increase speed in 6th gear.

Should state whether Auto Trans or MT.
AT will get better MPGs since the engine will be turning slower at highway speeds if in Overdrive 6th.

This is by far the closest car I've driven to EPA estimates. Might try to do an economy run this weekend to prove a point, ~64 mph cruise control the whole way should net me a 33 mpg tank if I fill up right before and after the freeway. (There's a pretty big hill on the trip).
