2018 Diff swap
Hi, everyone, we have a 2014 86 with the "basic basic option" used by TMG to develop their race version for europe
It's a 3.7 gear ratio and open diff. We would like to upgrade to a torsen and a shorter gear ratio, and I found this diff here for a very good price. It's from a 2018 Auto version, so the ratio is 4.1 instead of 4.3 (that would have been better) but this won't bother us too much. is there a way to confirm if this is what we are looking for (torsen and 4.1 ratio) and will it be bolt-on on our 86? thank you so much for your support Marco |

I believe that is the diff you are looking for. The 4.1 w/torsen that came out of my car was also a Y38.
Picture in this post when I sold it. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...47&postcount=1

It is not very difficult. I had the car on jack stands and used a floor jack to support the diff during removal/assembly.

Just be sure to inspect the new diff before install. Check that the two bushings are in good shape and that the seals for the CV axle look okay. I replaced the seals on mine before install just to be sure, though I probably didn't need to.
