Steve mentioned the '17+ cars got new header AND fueling, so what's left of the ~10 hp for '13-'16 cars, tune only, after the factory changes?

200 whp give or take is the limit with the fa20. Pre 17 benefit more from an aftermarket header as they are less efficient from the factory.

Awesome to have this reference available. I think Steve99 should write a book. This is some of the most useful information I've seen on any online motorhead forum, over the last 20+ years.

From a peak HP standpoint, given the improved OEM header, seems like I'm better off just getting a tune for the stock system I'm running with Nameless axleback...which is already at the max noise level for me. With the improved fueling mentioned in the '17+ cars, are the gains of ~10hp for a tune alone also diminished with the '17 updates?
No inspection issues with tune.. no light, no code, no worries. You hold out I'll be parting with my Tomei UEL and overpipe .. two pieces are very nice.. wrapped already too.. throw the stock back behind the front pipe like you said you were thinking of doing and you'll have a stock rumbler with maybe a little more low end and little less dip even for 2017+.. and I'm from the same area

What are you replacing the Tomei with? I ordered a Gruppe S UEL catless and a Perrin 2.5 resonated catback, so I'll probably have my Nameless axleback for sale. I'm thinking of the OFT tune, and maybe finding some help reviewing the logs.

I'm about set on a JDL turbo or SPD 500x (especially if I find solid OFT tune for it that'll work on 93 octane.. The tomei UEL header and overpipe is super nice. I'll miss them. Mainly why I'm going with JDL over some others to get that UEL. I have a Borla catback which real throaty but smooth and goes well with it.. I'm sure the Perrin would too.. if I do this I'll replace the front pipe with 2.5 Avo high flow cat that I just happen to have (woo hoo) and 2.5 JDL overpipe..

Was going to mention anybody in software tuning can help you look at logs .. just have to dump the CSVs in datazap website .. easy to do PM me if you have questions .. might have to change a couple of the default params that oft sets again super easy

My question is about tuning 2017+. I didn't see anything quantified in earlier posts. I had a 2014 BRZ with UEL header and tune and made 193WHP (+15% from OEM). But had an accident at the track and looking to get another BRZ. I see from this thread that 17+ have some differences. Which car will make more power after header and tune, a 2016, or a 2020? I had heard that the 17+ and the 2020 in particular didn't benefit much from tuning and that a 2016 after tune will produce more WHP and torque than a tuned 2020. Is this true? Or do they both end up in the same place - just that the 2017+ starts out more efficient so less percentage gain?

OpenFlash tune V2

Does anyone know if the software on the OFT V2 is compatible with new 2020 BRZ's?

I have a V1 and it works with my 2020.

You may have to email them for you CAL ID, if it isn't already listed on their site.

Mine was not, but I received it in a couple days.

I just installed Skunk2 EL Catless Headers, I have a Greddy SP Elite Axleback, and did the stage 2+ tune, would it make a difference if I upgraded to a full catback exhaust, like an Invidia Q300 for example? Thanks
