Mazda 'Kai' Concept

This styling combined with their new spark assisted compression engine is firing on all cylinders (pun intended).

I really like what Mazda is doing nowadays and I hope this comes to fruition.

I'm waiting for the next gen of skyactiv, that is supposedly when all the sporty cars will come back. I'd be tempted by an awd mazdaspeed 6, or if they finally make the 3 awd.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD1mPPkuRIE"]Mazda SkyActiv-X: How does the SPCCI engine work & what else changes in SKY ACTIV X w/ Dave Coleman - YouTube[/ame]

Prototype drive of the next gen 3 posted this week by MotoManTv. Also an in-depth interview about the new chassis changes and engine.

Drives a lot like the current 3, only a little more comfortable and possibly confident through corners. Feels a little faster than the stock 2 liter. Still knocks, but that's being worked out. The engine isn't terribly complicated, its just the the ignition method that is a head scratcher, but should be okay before production starts late next year.

Still no word on EPA or power numbers.

Rear gives me Model X vibes. Dig the front though.

Can easily identify this being a non-crossover due to the lack of ugly plastic fender wheel well liners that are all rage as of 2-3 years ago and peaking about now .

Looks poorly balanced, lots of car ahead of the front wheels and nothing at all out back to balance that out.

Most of the reason I like hatchbacks is little to no rear overhang, but you're right, that front end looks over extended for the rest of the body shape.
