Traded my duct tape in for some zip ties, thanks to @diss7 and his Stig-like expertise. Must be the kangaroo juice.

Oh yes. 10% of the total car weight will probably be zip ties in the end.

I really wanted to use some green ones, but the only green they had was neon green. If I ever find some darker green ones, I'll be doing some "cosmetic" mods. Yellow will have to do for now.

How many airbags are left in that beauty? I love how stripped the car is getting, but I am sure there are knee bags that can go. It looks like there is no longer a need for a couple pounds of steel hanging from the dash support bar either.

3 airbags left, that I know of. One above each door, and the one in the steering wheel. I just haven't gotten to the two above the doors, and I already have a different wheel, I just need to install it. As for those dangerous looking brackets, I'm going to leave them. As radical as I'm getting with it, I don't want to burn the bring-it-back-to-stock bridge.

I can't blame you on that line in the sand. There should be bags under each side of the dash for the knees. There are 10 bags in the car. 4 about people, 2 in front of the front passengers face, and two for their knees.

Hmm. I'm going to go look right now.

EDIT: Well... I just about sliced my scalp open on one of the infinite exposed brackets I have now, but no air bags were discovered.

Just take the brackets out. You're never putting this back together. And even if you HAD to, it'll still all sort of sit in there without most of the brackets.

Hahaha I guess you're right. These cars are expected to have some rattles anyway, right? It'll fly.

Did you have a chance to weigh the car? Really interested to see, as mine looks the exact same minus the AC/Heater unit and all airbags removed.

Once mine runs we will have to compare weights.

Not yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance this weekend. I'm dying to know.
