Stock suspension shot, looking to replace with Bilstein B8/RCE Tarmac. - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I'm at 72k miles and my stock suspension seems to be on its last legs. After some research, I believe I'm set on Bilstein B8s with RCE Tarmacs along with SPC rear LCAs and SPC front camber bolts. My car is my daily with occasional weekend auto x use so I would like a little more turn in than stock but not enough to greatly affect daily drivability/tire wear which is why I don't think camber plates are necessary. Looked into coilovers, but don't want to spend that much for good ones and I don't really need the adjustability.

I plan on bringing it to a performance shop for install/alignment, my main question is whether there is anything else I might want to look into replacing to possibly save on labor while I'm doing this. I've done about 25 auto x events plus back-road driving so the car hasn't exactly led an easy life and I don't want to things to start breaking now with a stiffer suspension. Thanks.

TL;DR - 72k miles, thinking Bilstein B8/RCE Tarmac with rear LCAs and front camber bolts. Anything else I should look into replacing while I'm at it?

I don't see any reason why B8 over B6. There is no gain to be had, but loose droop travel, rest being same.

Been going back and forth on that. I read that B8 was better for lowering and B6 was better for stock springs but there's doesn't seem to be a lot of info on it.

I paired RCE Tarmac springs with Raceseng camber plates. The lowering spring combined with the reduced stack height of the camber plate left the spring not captive when at full droop. The B8 damper, with its reduced droop travel, held the spring captive. If you think you may add camber plates later, going with B8's now may be wise. I'm not saying the B8 is better; I'm just putting info out there in case it is helpful.

If you're on all stock stuff now, also consider the RCE T0. Another excellent choice. T0 is $1700, so not far from similar pricing. Check the RCE bundles too, as they have some nice packages that can save a few bucks and hassle.

17x8 48mm offset O.Z. Ultraleggera. Currently have 225 Michelin PSS but will probably change to 245 200TWs when they wear out depending on how much I'm autocrossing.

Moving from the 225 MPSS to a 245 200tw will make your suspension work quite a bit harder. If you might hit the track, I'd go RS4 or Victra VR1, if it's purely autox I'd go RE71R. The RE71R is a ridiculously fast tire in Autox and epic on the street, but it's a one lap wonder on the track. It will grease out and become useless. (I choose to run them on the toy car where tread life isn't a big concern.

This would be the reason to get B8's, otherwise stick with B6. You may want the camber plates if you go to 245s.

We do have a our Bilstein/GTWORX coilovers coming out this spring...little bit firmer springs (but great valving) and a little more expensive than the strut + spring combo.
