Static Electricity

Every time I get out of my FRS and touch the door to close it I get a shock from static electricity. Anyone else having this problem?

Not cold here in southern CA. Nor has it been. But I didn't have this problem back in Oregon. Started about a month ago.

Hmmmm, it's really because it's generally drier in the winter months. Maybe it's been drier then usual lately?

It happens every time I drive it, day or night. Humidity today 25%, normally runs 10 to 15%.

As stated above, hold onto a metal portion of the car while stepping out.

A simple static build up. Just like socks on a carpet! touch the light switch and you get a shock as the static charge is discharged. The action of getting out of the car with cloth seats and your clothes generate the static charge, when you touch the metal door handle you provide the charge with a path to ground and thus experience the shock. Drier air also makes generating the static charge easier.
