Garage
Kids, dog, house work, I am working as a house husband nowadays since my wife is working like crazy 7 days a week full time at home (supporting NDT field inspections of power turbines). And I still need to work as needed during the week. This is a new experience for me and a lot of work but I think I am starting to like being a house husband.

used to get roadkill for the DIY stuff, they shut that down and converted my remaining subscription(3 years at the time) to hot rod, which is less DIY and more about rich old farts complaining their transmission in their $400k super bird is a little notchy. it's like a hillbilly trying to enter a country club. roadkill welcomed anyone and everyone on any budget, brand didn't matter. but hot rod's still got a very elitist domestic-only attitude that i just can't stand. they're starting to reach the 'harley davidson' peak, where they've got a ton of history and an obsessive userbase. but they can't cover newer stuff without alienating the older userbase, but that same userbase is dying off...

used to get PAS(performance Auto and Sound), as well as stereophile too. stereophile went way off the rails into vacuum sealed interconnect cables and 'isolation blocks'(little chunks of exotic wood) to raise cables off the floor.. PAS stopped covering individual builds and started covering only shop-sponsored off-the-rails builds...

i'm tired of magazines telling me that the only way to get something nice is to spend the gdp of a small country on a finished product built by someone else.

there's becoming this voodoo to all these industries where everyone seems scared to talk about what and how they do things, because in all reality, few of it is difficult, it's just time consuming to get to the level of fit and finish they showcase.
Time for you to take another "reading" you're start-en ta ramble -
