Hey Folks,

I'm Trevor from Calgary. I have an Asphalt FR-S got it in October 2012. Build date 07/12. Loved it so much. Put 44,500 kms in 10 months. The dreaded CEL light came on and all the "usual" jazz for this car July 23, 2013.

New engine finally built! yeah 3 and 1/2 months later. Should get dropped into the empty lonely car tomorrow I Might get to drive it this weekend. Just in time for winter tires. Love this car so much. Hope I don't have to go through this again in a year.

Great Forum so glad I found it. I have learned so much so far. Thanks to everyone. Looking forward to meeting some new FR-iends.

Thanks humfrz! Yup, it's fixed! And I've learned the expensive way about finding the limits with "enough space"...which at the time ran out on me...quick!

Hoping they were able to do it. Mostly I just notice the spots when it's really bright out and at the right angle. But still, for a new car the paint should be perfect!

New here everyone, just got my 2014 Raven FR-S on 10/31. Excited to learn more about the car and possibly modding it. I know nothing about modding cars but I am severely anal retentive and will go for cleanliness and function over cheap and flashy.

Well, in that case, just add a center armrest ...... and call it good .....

Lol, I actually don't even need the armrest, a lot of people have added that. I'm not sure what I want to add, I want it to look clean, and a little more aggressive. I don't want to sacrifice or compromise drivability or anything though.

What would you recommend?

Well, a few relatively inexpensive little things may keep your "mod fever" in check:

* XM radio receiver (unless it came with one)
* shark type radio antennae
* Perrin exhaust tips look nice
* a wing (unless it came with one)

..... and if you wish to spend a few more dollars, an aftermarket exhaust system would add a bit more aggressive sound.

OR ....... just put your money in a vacation fund and take that machine up into some mountains, for some real fun driving!

Well, that would be a LONG drive as I live in Miami, and there are no Mountains for a very long while. lol

I got the updated Touchscreen for 2014, I don't need or want XM, I listen to Pandora/Spotify/Ipod 99.9% of the the time. Bluetooth, HD Radio, USB, Aux jack are all I'll ever need AND it has a CD player if I want to play my old CD's lol

Was definitely thinking of the Shark type antenna how easy of an install is that? Is the reception worsened by using that?

Sort of new

Greetings!

Bought my FR-S in April of '13 (7mo ago). Scoped out this forum a few times but just started being a bit more active. I figured i'd get to know the car a bit before tossing my opinions out there.

So far haven't done too much to the car, TRD panel filter, replaced some speakers and added a tiny 8" enclosure to the trunk, etc. Nothing major.

It's my DD and I need to preserve my warranty, so I am not planning on doing a whole lot to it in the near future. I do AutoX a reasonable amount each year (just once this year with the new car so far though!), so tires/wheels/brakes/etc are on my radar.

Right now, i'm anticipating the winter (chicago) to see what my needs are as far as tires in the snow. My car came with the Bridgestone all seasons, so I may be ok as far as that goes. Depending on whether or not I need winter tires will determine a handful of wheel/tire decisions down the road. We'll see.

Anyways, glad to be welcomed by a vocal and informative forum. I have been pleasantly surprised thus far.

Well, OK ..... these are closer to you .... they should get your car warmed up .....

The "shark fin" is easy to install and the maker says the reception is the same as OEM.

Have fun!
