Passive/Keyless entry not working

When I walk up to my car and put my hand through the door handle it does not unlock and when I try to lock it by using the little pad on the door handle it just beeps and doesn't do anything, but when I walk up to my trunk and try to open it, it works, it seems to just not work with the doors, I can still push the button to unlock and lock it but I cant just walk up to it, plz help and thanks

I believe you have a '17, I would read the manual and make sure that all your keyless settings are right. It could be from the factory, port, or dealer it my not be set up. If that doesnt work, then right to the dealer you go

It's probably your battery, they have them at Radio Shack for like $3. The trunk sensor is probably closer to you when you open the trunk, than the door sensor is when you're opening the doors?

Idk worth a shot, even if it's just to clean the inside of the fob.

Replace the battery on the key fob. Happened to mine already.

If the battery is completely dead, use the little key to open the door, then quickly jump in and hold the fob next to the press to start button and fire up the engine in order to shut the alarm. The alarm will be on even if you manually lock the door.

for entertainment, the owners manual has a list of places not to keep your keyless start keys; near TVs, personal computers, cellular phones, cordless phones and battery chargers, recharging cellular phones or cordless phones, glass top ranges and last but not least table lamps.

Just a little quirk I recently discovered: I was having issues with my fob being detected inside the vehicle. The car would unlock and lock just fine, but once I sat down, it wouldn't let me start because it couldn't detect the fob (yellow light on the dash) until I took it out of my pocket and waved it around. At first it was intermittent, but it slowly became more consistent. I replaced the battery in the fob, to no avail.

Fast forward one month, and my car is at the dealership for a new transmission, and when they went to work on the car, the battery was COMPLETELY dead, and it wouldn't start. They charged it, and it was fine again, but I noticed the car was getting a bit more sluggish turning over when starting.

That's when I made the connection. My key fob only wouldn't be detected by the car after the car had been sitting for a while (AKA, when the battery hadn't been recently topped-off). So I replaced my CAR battery, and not only does my car more energetically now, but it detects the key fob without any issues, and has for weeks without a single hiccup. So it seems like even a slightly weak battery, while still plenty strong enough to start the car, can cause the keyless entry antennae in the car to lose their sensitivity.

Interesting...another odd thing that I noticed is that my LEDs would flicker when car was running at idle. Replaced the battery with a Red Top and the flicker resolved.

Did you try and use your spare key instead of the key you normally use?

If it works, your main key is defective. If the problem persists, the problem is car related. Try the passenger door handle.
If the problem is still there, maybe you car battery has a low voltage.
