Alignment
How much ground clearance is needed for a alignment? Im having a hard time getting my car setup with one due to them saying its too low. Also when i bring my ride height up for the alignment will it throw off geometry again when goin back to my preferred height

It depends on the alignment shop. I have never gotten a complaint even after watching them stack boards to get it on the rack.

Yah I believe its pure laziness because basically all of them around me says its too low but firestone particularly said they need atleast three finger clearance from tire to wheel well for the sensors to go on which i dont have even though i slapped on stock size wheels for the alignment instead of my 18s

Both the shops I trust have alignment racks that use these types of sensors. Fender clearance isn't an issue.

That's quite the bend in your lip. I'd keep an eye on the pressure of that tire just in case. (I'm aware that the air seal is well below that, but precautions are important)
Try a performance shop. They would be dealing with lowered cars frequently. |

Just how low are you?
I had zero issues getting alignments done on my FRS and it was dropped 1.5".

Had the same issue and mine was only dropped an inch. Subaru dealer said no, they had the old alignment rack from the Hummer dealer. They sent me to their sister Lexus dealer. That was fun having a yellow BRZ in the sea of silver SUV’s. Had an 86 acquaintance said he could. He pooped my STI front lip loose and the middle drug coming off the rack. Got tired of dealing with it so bought all the stuff to align the car myself. Search around for a performance shop or a shop with a flat alignment rack. It will cost more but less chance of them tearing something up.

It's more so an issue where the ones with in-ground racks use the tire mount sensors instead of the rim mount sensors so no matter where I go my car is either too low or they can't fit the sensors on the tire I just went to a shop about an hour from me that said they could do it I get there they said they sensors won't fit and they didn’t even wanna adjust the ride height on coil-overs to do the alignment and ill pay more but I spoke to a tech he said it used to never be an issue it’s just now shops are not adapting to the car community

To do 4 wheel you will need string and patience. |

At our shop we have a drive on hoist that's flush with the ground when its fully lowered. It also has the rim mounted sensors.
I think at the end of the day, a lowered/track stanced/stancey boi car seems intimidating, and is seen as a potential $$$ loss for a straight time tech, so they come up with an excuse as to why it can't be done or wont be safe or whatever. Kinda sad. That said, I am excited to be learning alignments, and look forward to doing them for local car guys. A great opportunity to work on a lot of cool cars outside of the Toyota range IMO.
