a little more power

e turbo would be nice if they offer a sportier version like trd. but scion doesn't have anything like trd or wrx, cause of they are only mono spec

I guess that carbon roof version would be the GRMN 86 that has been testing on the Nordschleife for the last year or two. The 14R60 already got a CF roof...

Man you're really gonna feel left out now when everyone has a carbon roof and you don't.

The source article is from motoring.com.au and we all know what that means.
Don't believe anything that's not in direct quotes. They take ambiguous answers and make things up claiming it's direct from the source.
Go back and re-read the motoring article with just the quotes and you'll get a different perspective of what was actually said.

Anything from Motoring is bullshit. Carbon fiber roof my ass. That's an option on cars like the M4, not a cheap japanese sports car.

Not that i take Motoring seriously, but the 14R60 already has a CF roof. And the upcoming GRMN 86 has a CF roof, hood and trunk.

Kch's statement is still true. Those may be 86s but they do not qualify for the "cheap Japanese sports car" title. They are anything but "cheap" I am sure.

The article didn't say that a carbon fiber roof would be standard, it said that it would be available on a certain model. If that's true I'm guessing it won't be cheap.

It already is available on a certain model. It is not one that the US can get and it ain't cheap. That means that the Motoring "news" is not patently false, as it often is, but it is not "news" either.

FR-S / BRZ facelift and buttlift spotted!

My guess is that the carbon fiber roof will require add'l crash testing for US consumption, so we won't get it.

Considering how thin the roof sheet metal is, I wonder what the weight savings would even be.
