I understand where you're coming from.

It boils down to bad encounter design if it's truly just a math fight. I've had this happen in a handful of games where abilities or whatever (simple numbers game) weren't accessible at a part of a game which made the fight mathematically impossible. Not fun to waste an hour perfecting mechanics only to realize the fight is actually impossible in your current state.

It would be interesting if games were actually designed around a level cap instead of allowing you to exceed it in power. What I mean is all stats, gear, and whatever else RPGs (or similar) can throw at you were simply different play styles once a level cap was reached of, let's say 50, and EVERYTHING is now balanced around that.

I don't even mind a protracted fight, if its consistent with the game. What I don't care for is a game that allows hidden range attacks for just about everything then switches to an arena/no place to hide style for bosses or specific situations. Picked up some old school stuff off Steam last week. They have redone the old Command and Conquer and Red Alert games with updated graphics and many bonus missions. Didn't really mess with the actual gameplay so it is nostalgic.

I kinda agree. The bellowback cauldron was a bitch, especially since the bellowback didn’t have any weapons you can turn against it like the thunder jaw. Traps/bombs/rope caster are helpful here.

The frozen wilds did a better job with indoor arenas for boss fights. You obviously can’t put much distance on your enemies, but cover exists and there is some elevation to use.

When they gave Dune a bad review because it didn't end with the story finished was the last of any since of credibility down the shitter.

also words and sentences are hard.

I take IGN with a grain of salt for sure. I'll still be getting FH5. I remember they gave Alien Isolation a really bad reward cuz it was too hard lol.

Though their focus is not to act as a racing simulator (even though you can set controls for simulator) such as Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo, ETC. It has a foot on the Arcade side and another on the Racing Simulator one.

I haven't dedicated myself to finish 4, mostly because is just a fun game, and what I mean by that is that there isn't a story line, you're not really required to win, just complete the race. Is a grab your dream car, modify it, and go out there and have fun type of game. I believe that resonates with members of the car community that don't necessarily want a challenging game, just want to explore a nice landscape with a huge selection of cars, and "have fun".

I prefer simulators but horizon is still fun

And while normally we'd take the rest of this section to talk about all the nuances of the results and what they could mean for Intel's new position in PC gamer's minds, there's just one problem we noted: The Core i9-12900K can't play every game. Italics intentional.
The sheer boldness of that statement may not have caught everyone on the first pass, so let's reiterate: Intel's latest gaming processor, marketed by the company as the "World's Best Gaming Processor," may not play certain games. It's dependent on the digital rights management (DRM) system used by the game to protect its licenses.
The culprit? All that P-core/E-core stuff we mentioned up above. During the course of our testing—which includes two runs of the popular title Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, one in 1080p and the other in 4K—we found the game would either crash halfway through the test run, or simply not boot in at all. We tried to test as many titles as we could ahead of this review, but time was already a factor with the benchmarking suite we had, let alone following behind Intel's late-stage answer about DRM compatibility with a trail of games that may or may not launch on the first go."
