Looks good. I'm getting mine this week and will also be getting it coated. It's not going on until spring though.

Could I get a bit of diagnostic help please?
I've been hearing an unpleasant sound coming from my engine bay during acceleration. The sound coming out of my tailpipes is nice: deep, growly, etc. But the sound coming from my engine bay under moderate acceleration is higher frequency -- I'd call it tinny. It's a bit like what raindrops rapidly falling on aluminum foil might sound like. I'm thinking the sound is being caused by some kind of exhaust leak. I spent about an hour today checking my exhaust system for leaks but found nothing. I'm still thinking I have a leak though because I'm seeing LTFTs of 10% at idle (as soon as I give any throttle LTFTs drop below 5%). A sound clip is attached. Thanks.

@j Zer0 Did this just start happening or was it happening when you first installed your header? Did you replace all gaskets when you installed it and make sure they were torqued to correct spec?

you do get a bit of a tinny sound at lower rpms with ofh as possibly most other aftermarket catless header due removal of cat ,cats cut down a lot of noise esecially higher frequencys, also aftermarket header generally lighter due thinner walled tube and no heat shielding all that cuts noise as well. sounded ok to me , the crackling noise in clip sounds like some ssue with recording or compression algorythm. |

@JMPeach How much did your ceramic job cost?
Looking forward to your feedback on the header..I'm still debating on whether the performance benefits are going to be worth the approx. $900 all said and done, coming from the OFT stg 1 tune. |

@steve99 @JB86'd
Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I started noticing the different sound when I changed to the new header. I did replace the gaskets and torque to specs, so like Steve said it may just be a case of this is what a lightweight catless header sounds like. As long as nothing is wrong I'm ok with a bit of tinny -- it's not obtrusively loud and it's only noticeable 2k - 3k rpm. And it comes with some decent performance gains.

@J Zer0 I've heard it's a good idea to retorque the header bolts after putting some miles on it, have you tried that?

I just got done installing the OFH+OFT yesterday and also got the"tinny" sound you're talking about but I only notice it on start up and once the RPMs drop the noise goes away. I would definitely say it's only present in lower RPMs though.
I was also scared that I didn't tighten up the bolts enough or that there is a leak but I have yet to log any data so won't be able to tell if I do have any issues.

Noob here with no experience in tuning.
Do you have to have the OFT attached everytime or can you flash, unplug and the car will run under that tune until you switch it? Also, I have an automatic frs, will the improvements be seen only in the automatic manual mode or also in the full auto mode? |

You can tune and then unplug. I also have an auto and will be getting the header on Wednesday with OFT tune. I'll update you
