And to get back on-topic for a bit, I briefly drove an Ariel Nomad and it was by far the most joyous experience I had in a car. It felt absolutely special in every regard. Reminded me a lot of my first test drive in a BRZ, only dialed up to 11. I talked to the owner a lot before and after, and his take is that the Nomad is a usable Atom, something that you really can drive around with (rather than tow to the track). It's in my serious bucket list, despite all the compromises, displacing the Elise (which honestly suffers from quite a lot of the same compromises, and has a few more to boot).
If I was going to go modern kit car, I think I would go Drakan over Atom.

$175k for a full car is pretty stiff. Even $130k for a rolling chassis is rough.

I don't think we're in the land of the typical 86 fan at that point.

Yea, toys are expensive. By the time you option out an Atom you're also well over $100k.

Oh, I get it that toys are expensive. I'm not really making an argument between the Atom and what you linked. I guess what I'm really saying is that if you are into "racing" and you have $130K+ to spend then something like this is really just for those people that have that money and it's all for appearances. When you get over $100k and you're looking for something that's "turnkey" then the world is your oyster and there are plenty of choices that are probably a better value.

That doesn't take away that either car isn't cool though.

Just making conversation. I'm not in the market for either. I'm with you, if I wanted to spend that much, they don't even make the list.

UNLESS, I was stupid rich, and lived close to tracks.

All good. Conversation is the spice of life.

Yeah, I think I would like one but if I had $130k to spend and I was building something mostly custom then I think I could do better than what they are doing for the money. Give me $100k and I think I could do something pretty awesome.

100k you could buy a Rush SR, a car trailer, and a decent used truck to pull it to the track.

Exactly. That's just one of the many, many possibilities too.
