Learning to properly drive a car quickly is never idiotic and will only make middling drivers like you even better. Always money well spent, especially if you're considering tracking, as the original poster mentioned.
Didnt say it wasn't beneficial just that saying its absolutely necessary is idiotic. Also i didn't use the multi quote function because i responded to the post i wanted to as i read them. It's ok though I still love you.

I am just gonna say the truth....
Planning ahead is good, but planning too far is all bs....
If you owned the car,,you can say, i am gonna buy intake, body kits, blah blah blah....
If you DONT own the car, all these tuning, stancing, tracking that you are saying are just bs

P.S if you lucky enough, by the age you can drive,,the sti version might come out.

Move out and get an apartment. I mean I could live with mommy until I'm 30 and drive a gtr but by god I got bills.

I felt the same way as OP. Then I realized how much an 18 year old high school student cant afford. Five years later I have my car and now I'm realizing how much I still cant afford. Damn bills and comfortable living taking priority.

First things to do?

Buy a 240sx/miata/mr2 and a repair manual. Beat on it, learn to repair it, learn the ins and outs of rwd and overall don't stress cuz it's a 2-3k ish car.

STAY IN SCHOOL.

Once you're working in your field with a nice degree/certificate and can afford it, buy whatever your heart desires. Trust me, I spent most of my twenties chasing the dream and scrapping by on ramen to get car parts. It was fun but not recommended.
Be an adult, take care of responsibility, then once all the bills are paid for you can have fun.

Trust me, It's a lot more fun/less stressful when you can actually afford to own quality parts instead of forum hunting for deals and scams.

So it's been two years... Is the OP finally able to drive and achieve his dream of buying this car yet?

Nah. He couldn't get 600HP out of it so went with a Mustang.
