Received enough parts to get started mocking up the oil pan. I also bought an additional subframe so I can do most of the work outside the car.

Current baseline weight with 1/4 tank of gas, no driver. Hoping for at least 50lbs weight loss from the swap. It would be nice to get some weight off the nose.
That puts the current P:W at 13.9

I've been struggling with what to for brake pads a little. I really like the Project Mu Club Racer but they wear really quick. I tired hawk DTC-60s, they were ok but seemed to wear faster than the Club Racers.
My Friends got me hyped on the Raybestos ST-43. They claimed good feel and long life so I ordered a set (that's a whole other story). I tried them at BHF and was not impressed but also confused as to what was going on. -First session was damp and the brakes felt fine. -Second session was dry and the pads felt like they were starting to fade part way through the session, bad enough that I cut the session short. I talked to the supplier and he was in disbelief that I could have faded the pads on such a light car (compared the the vettes and camaros he's used to). Which leads me to this. I came across thermocouples that can be inserted directly into the pads. Between this and rotor paint I will have a pretty good idea of what is going on with my brakes. Additionally I've started tracking wear so I can be objective about how much each pad is actually wearing. (I really wish I would have done this years ago)

FWIW rice_classic runs a 47/43 stagger on his T4 race car and swears by them. I bought 47's for the front and 45&47 for the rear of my car to try. Love the CSG pads, wanted to try something else.

Much like the PF08s, I'm doubtful that I will get double the life out of CSG pads to equal double the cost. I'm also going to stick a thermocouple in the rear. Given the lack of wear I'm almost questioning if they actually get up to temp.

The thermocouple for the pads is super cool.

I usually run on 200tw tires.
Here is the friction chart from Raybestos, looks like the ST-43 starts falling off around 1200f while the St-45 might hang on a little longer. DTC-60s are rated to be pretty stable past 1600f, and I never experienced fade from them. I couldn't find a chart for the Club racers but I've never felt them fade. They claim they are good up to 1400f

DTC-60s are a common favorite amongst 86 CUPers here.

Small update:
Ordered an ATI damper and it showed up damaged so I need to order a new one. Got the water neck installed. Santa delivered with a new passenger seat. I hesitate to post this since my welding is such shit but whatever. First pass at the oil pan is done. The rear turned out fine and fits nice around the subframe but I'm not happy with the bump out and am planning to cut it off and re-do it. I think I was too conservative and could probably add almost another half to a full quart by adding some space to the front and using a smaller angle between the main pan and the bump out. I have a little time since the electronics package hasn't shown up yet anyway.

Not much progress on the swap lately due to the cold but in other news...
Big boy rollers on the way!

Due to my lack of time and a mix of life events, the swap is on pause for the summer. I'm basically doing the minimum to be able to run a few events this summer and will hopefully pick back up in the fall. I have 95% of everything I need to complete the swap and the exterior of the oil pan is complete, leaving only the baffling before I can button up the engine.
Now on to better news. ARP wheel studs installed in anticipation of new wheels. 17x10s showed up with 255 RE71RS On the car. The rear fits perfect with a 8mm spacer and the front fits pretty good but needs steering rack limiters to be safe, those are on on the way Through assessing the clearance I noticed that I really don't have much shock travel in the front. I sent out an email to Racecomp asking if I have headroom to shorten the bumpstops. My assumption is yes but I'm not interested in damaging the struts. Then it becomes a balance of how much ramp rate from the bump stops I can accept. I also pulled out 6lbs worth of unused brackets, door speakers, ect. One of these things is a racecar, the other is fast.
