I always just torque it down until the head twists off, then spend an hour getting the bolt out, find a replacement, and then realize I've lost the sense memory of how force I applied that was too much, try to remember where I put my torque wrench...

Probably don't do it that way, though.

Not recommended since the 6 studs (3 studs and 1 bolt on each side) are all bonded to the chassis. Breaking one of those off would be a horrible ordeal.

Yeah, learned to never ugga dugga nuts - only bolts (and even then, that's a dumb idea). Naturally I learned that the hard way: water pump on a 2.8L Fiero GT. The number of bolts you can sheer off at the block and still get it tight enough not to leak is zero.

I'm confused. You're posting about the fit of part for the previous gen in the section about the 2nd gen? Or do you also have a '22+?

Two different fitment questions and answers.

Does it fit under the STI strut bar? Yes. 100%.

Do the nuts for the mounts fit on the inner bolts for my 2020? No, due to some slight tapering on the mounts. I've ordered some new smaller flanged nuts to test fit the bars on so I'll be trying that when they get here tomorrow.

EDIT: Yes, I'm trying to fit this on my 2020, not a second gen.

Gotcha. But still confused why you are posting a Gen 1 fit answer in the Gen 2 section.

Although to be fair, with everything else. I suspect the fit for stuff like this is going to be exactly the same between Gen 1/2.
