Posted it up a month or so ago, but I'll be at Sonoma on 3/15 with NASA. Anybody else signed up for it?

Ooooh, didn't know about it. Would love to run Sonoma. I am going to try to hit this one for at least HPDE2

While I would call T-hill a "fun" track, Sonoma is more "intense" with all the elevation changes and walls. Still, quite a fun track, plus you don't have to wake up at 4 am

Sonoma was a blast. I was told it would be a little much for someone's first time on the track.
It was awesome that my girlfriend and I both had touring car championship drivers as instructors.

Got a request to post this, I was the only 86 out there. It was last wednesday the 26th.

Finally did my first track day...well first one where I was driving and not wrenching.

A good friend of mine rented out thunderhill. We got about 30 guys to chip in(friends, friends of friends) There was a mix of fully built race cars to random street cars. It was a completely open track day. 9-5 with no groups and open passing, and it was amazing. Go do 10 runs, get off, chat, ride with someone, drive some more. Most fun Ive had in my car yet!

It rained in the morning, dried up by 11 and then rained again around 2. Driving in the rain was interesting, especially on my horrible tires. But the track did dry up for a few hours, and I was able to get about 30 laps in the dry. At one point I even had the track to myself for about 7 laps.

Like I said, first ever time on the track driving, so be nice

Finally had time to put some video clips together from 2/7 Thunderhill. Here's the first one.... second one is still processing.

Since some of the context has been lost in this thread... this was my first time along with @buzznasa, @BRZkitty, and Matt. These clips were from the 4th session where we put ourselves at the front and were able to stretch our legs.

Near the end of that clip I was starting to grit my teeth looking for a point-by Your exhaust sounds sweet!
