Has anyone changed a mid pipe and kept stock exhaust?

I am looking for sound mainly and some better tips. Silly to spend alot of money on a full cat-back or even axle-back if this can be achieved using stock exhaust.

Call Nameless up, they did develop a midpipe, just didn't release it because it made no power. They can build one for your and go with the JDM tips, they look awesome.

I haven't read about anyone doing it yet though...

I know of no other company that will sell you the midpipe by itself.

(I guess you can also go to your local muffler and get it done cheaper).

Do you mean change the front pipe and put different tips on the stock muffler? Many people have done it. There are a few sound clips of both cattted and catless front pipes on stock exhaust.

I think he meant specifically the midpide, since that won't mess with the stock cats and he's from the CARB state.

^^ 10-4. I think you are better off just replacing the front pipe and get different tips. They can be had for under $200 and will give you a little extra growl and some power to boot.

No one that I'm aware of has made a replacement midpipe, if you are looking for a midpipe replacement with no resonator. With the stock muffler I don't think it would make much difference at all in sound.

I was originally going to replace my downpipe with a nameless pipe and then get an axleback for sound. but thats a good idea, I might just replace the tips instead of buying an axleback.
but replacing the midpipe wont do you any good.

Question. The front pipe is where the cat/resonator is?

There's a resonator in the stock midpipe as well:

I'd have a muffler shop fabricate this. Probably the best option. You can choose a different resonator too or just remove it.
