There really is only the US spec stuff left, since we're the only one with the mono spec and we got the somewhat different trim car last time. They're also no price, will it be higher than a BRZ Premium or lower and by how much?

If it looks like the one in NY for example

we'll get the nice interior with Alcantara, and the GT seats with like last years pattern. You wont get the LCD Screen etc.

but that car is a prototype.

WE still don't know what we will get, and I don't expect to hear much till late AUG/SEPTEMBER.

I think it will be competitive with it own twin.

But there's also a curve ball they can throw at us like, offer just only the GT trim at Toyota to compete with the limited BRZ trim. That be ideal for alot of buyers.

But then again we don't know so

they're still alot at least I like to know. Also European GT86 Trims too. They had minor differences in the past with the Japanese very minor but they were much more different than the FRS.

Now Subaru on the other hand I think all their cats are out of the bag.

: )

In any case like I usually do I'll try to hunt down relevant stuff like always before the cars are on lots.

I think it's safe to assume it will be nearly identical to the original FRS since it's mono spec

Well likely get the LED HID which should've been standard from the start.

^^^ Couldn't have said it better. Until official specifications are released, it's really up in the air what the final package and at what price the car will be released with. I agree with Zaku about getting the curve ball thrown at us. We're not sure how closely Toyota NA will actually want to align the 86 to the BRZ premium model so there's always that chance that they'll want to do something from a feature/value standpoint to differentiate it.

In any case like I usually do I'll try to hunt down relevant stuff like always before the cars are on lots.

I generally preach that the manufacturing plans are done years in advance and the manufacturers know exactly what will be coming out at least 2 years before they release the info. This is mainly based upon my 30 years in the automotive parts manufacturing business and knowledge of the turn around time for changes and materials flow. This would mean that under normal circumstances Scion/Toyota would already have all their ducks in a row for the 2017 and 18 models including any special editions and facelift upgrades. Historically Scion/Toyota release far more info way ahead of Subaru and by now we would have most of the info.

Now I am not so sure that these "normal" conditions exist for the 2017s. Every indication from the reams of materials I have read would seem to indicate that the death of Scion was sudden and not well planned out. Contrary to many people's belief more or fewer cars and their respective parts can not be built with the flip of a switch. The fact Scion went so suddenly means that Toyota now has to scramble to get the parts to change those cars over and although they can fast track that it will still take time. All this will push out more details by a couple of months so instead of full info by June we will have to wait until September.

On the subject of different versions, Toyota has officially said many times they will be doing monospec for the 17s and are "considering" different trim levels after that. They were not concerned with matching the BRZ models with Scion and doubt that they are in a hurry to do it now. This of course does not mean they will not throw a curve ball and give us something but it will not likely be high on their priority list if they are planning anything at all. My educated guess is they will hold that in their pocket for 2018 though.

Time is all that will tell really.

Another clickbait aggregator article. Total crap, that has been pirated from other articles, translated through google twice and reposted as if it's a new article. Complete with resulting mistranslations that result in linguistic gems like this:

the Toyota 86 logo has an agreeable and sleek inside outline. At the focal point of the new Toyota 86 car, a lively controlling wheel with center 86 logo gives simple access to incorporated sound controls.
