Angry Reported idle-drop and crickets - got turned away

Well - I finally got fed up with my idle surging and the shuddering I get when I am at a stop. It's brutal. There's no CEL or stalling but it's pretty intolerable for a brand new car.

I contacted my dealer and was basically told there's no bulletin, nothing available to that I'm stuck with it for now.

This is complete crap how we are getting the run-around in Canada whereas in the US these issues are at least mostly being addressed.

I've sent a short email to Scion Canada as a complaint. We'll see where this goes..

their is no bulletin in the US either and instead of thinking its an idle issue you should think that it's normal due to it occurring on every vehicle. just because your other car didn't idle the same doesn't mean its a problem. As for the Cricket noise you will always have that as well and the bulletin we do have for it doesn't mean every car will have the service repair performed, only the excessive ones will.

I have the same issue, but it's not every time so knowing my luck it won't happen when I bring it to the dealer. I'm waiting for a CEL.

Even if you get a new ECU after a CEL, it is probably not going to fix these problems. This car has been a very frustrating ownership experience.

I would bring it in as much as possible so it is documented you had an issue with it. This will help in getting the lemon law to work in your favor.

FYI, I've never had a single idle drop in the past 4 months / 3700 miles.

Its probably your tune. Mine went away with it. Does the perrin up your idle to 800 or stay at 600?
