i haven't gone through this before but shouldn't this type of questions you should ask your dealer before you place an order? I'm guessing from 1 week to one year depends how lucky you are haha

Apparently a shipment of 2000 BRZs are coming, so wait time will be shorter. It also depends on what color and options you chose. I don't see the wait times being as long as they used to. Not to mention sales on the East coast will trickle off during the winter month, so more will sit on lots.

Your wait could last a month, it could last 8 months, who knows. You're most likely going to see 8-10 weeks, that's the most typical response.

It all depends on what trim and options you ordered, and in what color. The manufacturers do cars in batches, so if the batch you fit into is next (e.g. Black Premium, or Red Limited, etc), you'll see it sooner. If you just missed your rotation, could be waiting longer. There's also the logistics of when a shipment comes to the US shores. These cars are still built on an assembly line, so they arrange large production numbers of identical trim packages for efficiency.

Are you using one of the dealer's allocated orders? or is this an extra one for them?

I just picked my BRZ up last night. Mine was a dealer allocated order though. I ordered 9/5, got VIN on 10/25, Delivered 12/3. So I'd generalize saying VIN could take about 2 months, and delivery could be about 3 months after placing the order. Bust thats just considering my order experience...My dealer told me it'd be "12 weeks", and he was pretty much dead on, which was probably more lucky than good. Honestly, it could be 6 weeks to 6 months...its hard to say for sure

If your dealer had extra orders to fullfill and did not meet their quoted amount of cars, expect 60-90 days. All depends where you live for after receiving a VIN to actual delivery of the car. A lot of people wait 2 weeks sometimes 3-4 after VIN is received. Honestly though you should be asking the dealer and keep in contact with them. Do not feel needy to keep asking them for updates unless you have a great sales rep and they will keep you updated when they get info. My sales rep has kept me in the loop with everything for the order. I do not think you will see it before the end of the year. My guess? Probably Feb-March.

as other members said. it varies based on what color and availability from dealer.

I ordered mine in August and dealer informed me that my car will be here in Feb.

Have you thought about checking other dealers out there that are offering the color/trim/tranny that you want? If you want it now and don't want to wait, go outside your local dealers.

There is no way to tell you X time for VIN, ETA or Schedule. These factors will be dependant on how many WRX/STi models your specific dealer has sold in the past and how many BRZ's Subaru plans to allot to them now and in the future.

I'm telling my customers 6-8 months until Subaru pony's up some concrete info.

For reference, an order that I placed in April will hopefully be arriving in January. One of our orders placed in August is projected to be a 2014MY arriving in June-July.

The longer you wait, the longer it will take. Plain and simple.

We aren't a GM or Toyota that can just say "Ok, let's ramp up production to meet the demand."

This is not the car to wait and see what happens. If you want one, order it or travel/ship to get it.

the wait is becoming almost a piece of the car. The joy of getting it after waiting sometimes over 6 months would be remarkable. Yeah it sucks but it makes the car that much more unique

This is the advantage of not being in a rush. I can wait. I don't "have" to have a BRZ. Demand will slow down eventually and eventually dealers will have cars sitting on lots waiting to be bought. If that is next month or 2 years from now, it will happen.
