Plus. the Lotus Evora runs a Camry V6 (slightly tweaked with a supercharger, but it's still a Camry engine).

S4's make more power over a wider RPM range with a single turbo than twins. I would suspect other engines would be the same. It all comes down to efficiencies. Each turbo has friction, there's losses in piping, etc. The more you add the less efficient the whole system becomes.

It does all come down to efficiencies. More specifically, compressor and turbine efficiencies. You can design a twin turbo setup that does anything a single turbo can do, and vice versa.

There are also losses in having headers that are routed in convoluted ways to get both sides of an engine hooked up to a single turbo. Intercooler piping isn't the only piping in a turbo car.

It looks damn bad ass but you could generate the same performance from 1 turbo and 1 intercooler etc...

Twin is only necessary if there are space/routing constraints preventing a single turbo setup.

Gotta hand it to him for the craftsmanship and uniqueness!

Id like to see the results. Everything I know about building turbo cars tells me this is a complete waste. But then again i never thought id be daily driving a 12.5:1 compression 450whp 2.0liter.

So many haters.

I guess its the usual "the majority of the forum doesnt like it, so I better not like it too"

A boxer is a prime candidate for a twin turbo setup. Thats why Subaru did it on some EJ's.

We even looked at it here (we as in myself, a couple of race team level mechanics, a fabricator, a tuner) Basically our idea was have a small frame turbo behind the cross member (like ptuning) but one either side. (Each 'bank' would feed its own turbo. The passenger side bank (drivers on LHD) would have its own maniflod/overpipe, rather than having to go around the oppostie side like OEM)
Have them both come up to w2a intercooler and new rear fed intake manifold.

But there was ALOT of fucking around with it. So I just got a JDL kit instead.

With all that said, I don't like the kit posted above at all.

To chime in the heat is actually not to bad, to each they're own opinion why not try something different, decided to be different and works well, could gone the simple way like all the others and slapped my 30r on and called it a day but chose to push the norm and innovate a twin setup on the car and feels great and will be coated once fully completed
