I was a big Honda guy for 6 cars consecutive. My 08 accord V6 EXL put me off the brand. After 4 years it had American car issues.

Yeah it was also written by Jack Baruth the guy who lives in the 80s and hates on the Twins on his little blog. Credibility lost when we put on those god ugly pants. He also lost the right to have an opinion, cuz in those pants he will always be wrong!

My 2 cents: The Civic Si would've not just dominate... but PWNED the Toyobaru thoroughly if Honda decided to keep the front double wishbone suspension instead of McStruts. All wheel double wishbones traditionally found in older Honda chassis (EG/EK/DC2-R) usually gave similarly powered FR cars a run for its money.
Look like these autoguide guys try to save the civic si vs brz . The civic ride like the current FWD corolla S category. Look at that si rolling motion thru the curve. Why don't they find some better shocks to gain another 0.5s ?!!!

Where? Can I see? That would be an interesting battle.

edit : nvm found the video. I thought you meant stock for stock lol.

My neighbour has a stock 86 corolla. Its stock!! He's also like 60 something though. Took it for a drive a few times. That thing stock is miserable lol. I've seen a boosted ae86 with a sr20 in it though. BEAST.

What are you talking about... the Si is still very competent in the market and is competitively priced (just 22k)... and is a good aftermarket platform-ready. That K24 under the hood is detuned and is basically waiting for a turbo...

No, but the tires are the constantly active variables between the car and the road... no true comparison of two cars abilities can be fully justified without evening up the playing field on tires.

Besides, changing/removing parts of the car is not the same as replacing tire compounds... especially if they remain 'street class'.

Apologies here, but for me the new Civic Si is too reminiscent of the 1st gen tC. The need to add a turbo, the detuned 2.4L motor, and the comfortable chassis just don't speak highly for Honda's actual heritage of phenomenal motors and agile footwork and sound like a play on the tC.

They need quite a few cars to return in order to prop up their history. Right now, used S2000's and Preludes are the closest vehicles they have to maintain their image. It will take time, the revision or death of the CR-Z, or release of a hi-perf Fit to make the change immediately.
