New teaser video from Subaru. Doesn’t show a whole lot more, but a decent shot from the side...

31 seconds in, shot of the front fender for anyone interested in what it looks like without camo.

Also, confirmed calipers are not see through. In fact, they look the exact same as gen 1 to me.

I really hope that they do a release video where the Dad from my favorite BRZ commercial gets his own MK2 and shows up at the son's house.

You totally get it @Dadhawk!

It's not about the "numbers". So many people are obsessed with 'the numbers', 0-60, 1/4 mile times, lap times around the Nurburgring, horsepower, etc. etc. etc. Most of those people never generate those 'numbers' in a car themselves, but just spew quotes from some car magazine or reviews, to brag to their friends or strangers.

Who cares?

What matters to me is how it feels to drive a car. I don't care about the 'numbers', and I'm not likely to be setting Nurburgring lap records or drag racing strangers on the street (at least not since I got out of high school). I just care about how much fun a car is to drive on the street (or more like twisty country roads), how it feels to my butt in the seat.

If you own a BRZ/86, you get this to some extent. These are not 'numbers' cars. These are fun cars that feel great to drive regardless of how the numbers might compare to other cars.

If you're truly a hard-core racer and actually spend a lot of time on a track, then it's a different situation and the numbers certainly matter and make the difference between winning or losing. But truth be told, most of us are armchair racers.

It's the same with the Mustang. Of course there are cars with better numbers, more hp, faster 0-60, 1/4 mile, whatever. So what? Like you said, the Mustang is the iconic pony car. It means more than just bragging rights to some ridiculous number. It's just the fun of going down the road with the top down, in a car that looks good and has more than enough power to push you back into the seat and exceed the driving capabilities of most people.

What more could you want?

The engine sound here is just fantastic, but does it have any chance of being unaltered given the car's 4 cylinder engine? Electronic "augmentation"
in the BMW tradition seems a distinct possibility.

I gotta say, as a hype campaign, this one is fairly effective.

Lol? What am I looking at here? Ignoring the misaligned side-skirts It looks like someone used some 3M tape to stick on some wheel-well extenders.

Anyway, it's a pre-production model and all that. Maybe it won't be tooooo bad.

You are looking at a functional aero trick to decrease drag. This was tested last year along with the vents behind the front wheels, and the ducting in the front bumper.

See, this is the info I've been waiting for.

Would have preferred the earlier version of the fender vents myself. From an asthetic perspective at least. I don't like the swoop over the vents on the newer version.

misaligned? this is a cheap car if you care about less than 5 mm on a side skirt, you're in the wrong price segment or go see a psych. and get some glasses in the meantime

My Mom did. It was a 7 year old 64 1/2. It had only about 20% of the floor and trunk left, the red paint was faded to a pale pink, the exhaust was mostly wire and soup cans and the straight 6 probably had compression in 3 cylinders (at the best of times). We took it for the 1,000 mile round trip to visit my grandparents at least twice since it was in far better condition than my Dad's truck.

Meh. This crowd would get hyped if they showed a lug nut! The clickbaits would build a whole car around it and many would debate the fictional pros and cons.
The general public hasn't seen one lick of this and wouldn't care if they actually did.
