It's a Torsen (torque sensing) LSD, not a VLSD (viscous fluid). It's not going to "heat up and stop working" (like a diff that uses viscous coupling)...

Torsens are great for grip driving. Their only downside is if you lift the inside wheel into the air, the Torsen will act in the same way an open diff would act until that wheel regains traction. You can drift with Torsens just fine.... They just don't lockup as aggressively as what most drifters want... This is what you'd expect though. Most people who use 1.5 way or 2 way clutch-type LSDs for grip driving run them with much less aggressive settings than they would use for drifting anyway. Torsens are a good all-around diffs, and that's why OEMs use them. VLSDs suck, and that's why they aren't very common anymore.

Most pro drifters are running quick-change spools nowadays, which effectively work in exactly the same way as welded diffs... only they are stronger and safer.

You don't actually think 9" wide wheels are wide, do you...? And you know Ken Block doesn't actually drift, right...?

Well by design yes, but we're totally going to be finding these things in 10-15 years totally ratted out with welded differentials and people wanting $10k.
