I don't get to crazy with the protein fixation either. I eat meat, nuts, lentils, beans, etc. evacuee I like them and don't force them into meal plans.

I only use protein powder after a workout to aid in recovery. I also like they stuff I use because it has probiotics. I'm getting old so I need help pooping :p

Unless you decide to start getting help with "supplements" you will never look like the guys posted above. Hell, even with them you probably still won't.

Not trying to take the wind out of people's sails here, but just trying to be brutally honest. You can make very noticeable gains at first if you are a newbie but after that its a long road with minimal gains.

Don't worry about being too big, too small, this size, etc. It all starts with what you are putting into your mouth. Clean up your diet - eat smart. Try to stay consistent so you know that "ok this this and this i'm eating isn't helping me gain any weight. I don't look like shit but i'm not gaining weight, so I need to add more calories somehow".

I know some people can just eat whatever they want and not get fat, but it doesn't mean its healthy for you. I am definitely not one of those people as I would just get fat in no time
True, i wish i got as big as guy shown on top naturally on accident LOL

Replace all your rice, bread, and pastas with whole grain foods. Brown rice, whole wheat bread, grain pasta. I'll be honest ever since i did this 3 years ago, I've been able to wake up and just sit on the bowl and shit it all out. Consistent #2 helps you free up your whole day lol. Unlike one of my bosses that told me he has to shit 5 times a day...

Grain pasta is a no-go, contains gluten which is very bad for your body; Replace with Brown Rice Pasta. Whole wheat bread is a no-go as well, grains should not be ingested into our bodies if you want to get to the extreme aspect of a diet. Replace whole wheat bread with Sprouted Bread or Almond Bread. Brown rice is a healthier option, to take the option to the extent of healthier; intake wild rice instead.

Never believed in religious eating. Don't want to pay an arm and a leg for unprocessed food when i can get the same reults cheaper elsewhere.

It all started when i crashed my rx-8. Almost fell down a hill with three others in the car. I was young and stupid. I needed something to distract me from losing my baby and my fuck ups, so i turned to lifting weights. It's been fun and I've come a long way.

1-09-2014

Height 5"10
Age 24
Weight 201lbs
body fat ~16%
Currently on a cut

Bench press 225 x3
squat 295 x2
dead lift 385 x2

02-20-2014

Height 5"10
Age 24
Weight 196lbs
body fat ~15.4%
still on a cut

Bench press 245lbs
squat 315lbs
dead lift 385

3-19-14

Height 5"10
Age 24
Weight 196lbs
body fat ~14.1%
still on a cut

Bench press 245lbs
squat 315lbs
dead lift 385

(weight stayed the same but body fat dropped 1%, strength still the same though, but i'm repping my prs by 1 now. Thinking of dropping calorie intake by 300.)

So here goes, ask me anything, advice, diet, workouts. Lets go!!
I HAD AN RX-8. BRZ is better IMO. Although I loved it.

oh well lol

I've experienced this before as well. Before I joined crossfit, I was working out on my own after my D1 athletic career, and was scoffing and making fun of all the herps derps of crossfit too.

Once you learn what it's really about, you gain a little more respect for it.

I don't doubt it's a great workout I just noticed within the span of a year it became the new "thing" that everybody was talking about. And let's get real, just like a gym membership, "bar" membership or what have you the majority of the people who talk about how incredible it is and how often they go are the ones who usually don't really do the work.

Some of my workouts may even be seen as incorporating crossfit workouts. For cardio sometimes I will do high-intensity full body circuits.

Just noticing a funny trend that's all.

I agree with that logic. If you do not have someone you can depend on, then you will find excuses not to workout, so find that person that you can believe in to motivate you and stick with a program... until it becomes habit and you go on your own.

It's like when I was learning how to do a headstand. In my formal yoga training, the monks said to never learn with a wall as you become dependent on the wall and fall when you realise it's not there. I disagree with this. I learned with a wall, KNOWING it would not be there very soon. As long as you've set it in your mind, it's all good.

A good choice is a group workout. I've joined this no-frills gym in Toronto and it's awesome. Most of the same people show up daily, but the beautiful thing is, if your main buddy doesn't show, you have another 5 who know you and ask why you didn't workout in a week :P

Can you supply peer reviewed papers that have been published in well known/quality periodicals to back up your claim that "gluten is very bad for us?" Some people definitely seem to be effected by it in a negative manner, but many people can process it just fine. There is certainly an amazing amount of here-say about it, but I haven't been exposed to any scientific data as of yet. Feel free to post links in the thread or just PM me. Thanks!
