I don't find people that own the K-Sport BBK's that are sorry they bought them for street use. The only one complaint I found was of the stock brake pads that come with the kit.
i guess you don't understand that brakes are for SAFETY purposes regardless what type. but it's cool. have fun modifying your car and do with what you want.

Takum, the R1 looks interesting but no kit prices generated when I go through the order options. Made to order is probably pricey though :/ Thanks for the link.

Clutchdog, manufactures websites obviously all say how great their products are. Already done that. I am a senior nearing retirement. I search much further than that before deciding. More interested in people that have run K-Sports for street use (not track) or those that sell and service them like Mod Auto.

Dave, yeah track use experience is not going to tell me much, especially if you ran the D2 race calipers with no seals instead of the street versions. But hey, 6 years track use and 50K K with admitted poor maintenance habits and they still got the job done for you. I'd say that's an endorsement! : ) My FRS gets very little use and I will worry more about rusting rotors than overheated.

If you're buying a BBK for looks, then yes, K-Sport is right up your alley there, big shooter...

If you found enough info to question the quality in the first place than digging for more just to try and counter that and justify your decision is counter productive. I spent 5 minutes searching these brakes (I had never heard of them before) and came to the Imeadiate conclusion that there is not a hope in hell I would use them on my street car.
Buying cheap, knock off, ineffective parts just for "bling" is how we developed the term ricer. Don't be a ricer when safety is involved.

I mean, I keep hearing good things about STOPTECH from people who actually race, when meanwhile the internet is out with their pitchforks against STOPTECH...

I didn't deep dive but EVERYTHING I read on these said crap. If you have to dig for good comments then it is a good indicator there is an issue.

OP should just get covers, some decent paint and drilled rotors. Problem solved, bling achieved.

stoptech makes some good shit. their kits and quality is amazing. and you truly get what you pay for. running their C43 front bbk and a proto-production model c42 rear bbk. no joke, highly recommend I've never felt so confident in my braking abilities.

I think the AP kit is a better option in the long run. The friction rings for the stoptech rotors are much more expensive. The AP kit also has much wider variety of pad options that are in stock.

Unless they've totally revamped their product line (unlikely), or the laws of physics have changed, why does that matter? If they were bad 5 years ago and nothing has changed, they're still bad.

Based on what it sounds like you want out of them, you'll be fine. Will they shift bias in a bad way, very likely. Will that make stopping distances slightly longer, very likely. Stopping distances are mostly a function of grip though, so even with the bias shifted you cold recover that with better tires. I wouldn't suggest going on a track with them at all, but if your primary reasoning is looks, then have at it. They're significantly heavier, so you'll take a bit of a hit on acceleration and braking there too.

Keep an eye out for leaks, brake fluid ruins paint in a huge hurry. If it leaks out and gets onto the wheels it can fling up onto the body panels and ruin your day real quick.
