New guy with a quick question

Hey guys, I come from LS engines and know when we did headers and/or intake, a tune was required. Now, I have confirmation the Rev Works header will not make our motors run lean, but I'm looking at intakes as well and would like to know if anyone has run an intake and header on a wideband without a tune? I do not want to do a tune, as I don't want to void the warranty. I also do no want this thing to run lean from mods, either. I've been looking at the AEM "tuned" intake, but I think I'm as skeptical as everyone else. Thanks in advance.

The rule of thumb thus far has been, if you get an intake, get a tune.

Yup, that's what I was afraid of. Oh well, weird sound tubes will have to do for now. Thank you for the quick response.

From my understanding, most of the intakes are making just about the same power as some of the better drop in filters (Blitz drop in). Subaru did a very good job with intake design.

^Above is the link to the rev works header. They advertise that the results they got were with no tune. Check out that page and the following pages for reviews etc.

Haha, I traded that big beast away. I'm actually glad to get away from straight-line speed. This car is a million times more fun. If I ever want to FI an FRS, I'll get another one and do it. I don't want to mess with the dynamics too much.

Oh, that one is already on order. I'll now have a Berks frontpipe, Motiv overpipe (thank you ngabdala) and the Rev Works header. No intake for me until warranty is toast.

If the money isn't an issue. Go with the TRD intake and you should be good with the warranty. On the web for just over 400$ now

My dealership knows I have a tune and still does work to my car. Depends on the dealership. Tech a intake can void your warranty on your engine. Even headers. I have some advice.... Ditch the extended warranty and throw that money in a savings account. Gotta pay to play.

Chances are running your car w.o a tune will kill your engine faster then the no tune.

See, this is what I expected to see. There's no money in an extended warranty, since I'm of the nature of "when it breaks, replace it with something much better." I'm seriously thinking a tune may be in store, but I need the cricket fixed first.
