OFT "Error in opening the file", Now Bricked

I am demodding my car for a move to California. I was going to switch out my custom E-Tune for the OFT Stage 1 tune after removing a lot of the parts.

After doing what I believed was uploading the tune files, I'm getting the following when I try to use OFT in my car "Tuning file corrupted. Weird." and "Tuning file mismatching, ECU write denied."

When I plug it into my computer, I get "Error in opening the file".

Any help? I'm moving in 3 days and need the OEM tune ASAP.

If the original tune is lost, how do I get it or a duplicate version of it back? ECU replacement? ECUtek?

Getting a copy of the original stock rom is easy i have most of them and they are attached to end of the Tactrix Ecuflash link below.

If the oft wont communicate with the car or the PC then you have a problem. Their might be a problem with the latest update compatability with old OFT firmware or something this a about the fourth one i know off in the last month.

you will need to contact the openflash guys and possibly send oft back to them for reset.

what is your original calid ? i can post up the rom for you

If you have access to a Tactrix cable you can flash back stock rom

Hey Steve,
Thanks for the response. Tablet will connect to car and looks like it will even let me datalog (or at least view the engine parameters)

CalID is ZA1JA00C (I believe).

We have had two guys here with same issue, oft will connect for logging but you cannot access tune files when plugged into car and you cannot access tune files by openflash manager to erase or reload.

you could try manually downloading the latest OFM 1.24.0 from openflash site and load that on PC and see if that sorts it. but i dont think it will , somehow the oft thinks its internal tune file memory is corrupted.

Yeah, I tried that. I PMed someone with a similar issue and it sounds like they had to get a new tablet.
Mind linking me to a stock tune I can upload to the OFT? I looked at the tactrix thread but didn't see an exact match in your attachments.

Stock roms

I dont have an A00C as its an old outdated rom, earliest i have is an A01C

but the B01C is compatible as well and its the latest stock rom for your car so its the best one to flash if you get someone to do it with a tactrix.

700C,900C,A00C,A01C,B00C are all compatible with B01C which is best rom with all the idle and di seal fixes

see attached roms

If you can find a Tactrix cable, flash a B01C calibration.

+1 definitly the best stock rom to flash for that model.

however depending on what happens with his oft he may need the A00C stock rom as thats the only one the oft will load if his original base rom was A00C

if he get a new replacement blank oft and he has been flashed to B01C he can just marry up to that.

I asked the local guys if anyone had a tactrix with no luck. What's in the car now is an E-tune from shiv. My guess is that it somehow tags as A00C and that'll I'll have to stick to that. My best hope at this point is that I can get a new tablet and I have to live with the fact that's it is unsellable since unmating it would put custom tune in car instead of stock tune.

You can ask the dealer. Since you have a very old CalId, it's not that strange to ask for an ecu update.

@kodyo

If your location was slightly more specific than "United States" then I would know if you were close enough to me to loan you my tactrix or not.....
