Mostly browsing, and PM'ing classifieds, so nice with these cars you have an active forum and guides for everything, where my car there's nothing
Oh god dude don't admit you work on them on here!!!!! About 80% of these guys figure they know way more than any tech ever and view the people paid to work on them every day as lower than pond scum.

Well, unless you're me, and have had some great experiences with mechanics. XD

Either way, best of luck to you, and welcome to the forum!

Heh that goes for alot of forums except big luxury brands I've noticed, but I'll keep my mouth shut for a while, and lurk mostly :P And I know what you mean, I used to wrench at a shop and got a taste of the crooked industry.. but by no means am I better than lots of techs, but the gt86's are fairly easy to work on being rwd, cept the spark plugs, for obvious reasons

I hope you can buy one soon. You might want to check inventory clearance at Scion dealers. That's how I found mine with a good discount. Best of luck to you.

BTW, if a mechanic chooses the car he works on, that says a lot about how good the car is. I at least feel how much Toyota cared about this car; I feel like this is a very special car. Welcome!

Gotta finish my DD build then start saving up so long ways to go for me, but I've driven a lot of these cars and I'm loving it.. curious to see what the real gen2 will be like when they change the chassis and everything..

Heh toyota did alright, I think its more of a subaru than a toyota from being under the twins so much, I've worked on a few toyotas too, friend has a 2gr swapped mr2 and my mom drives a lexus.. but it feels more like a subaru down there

and thanks again!

I am new here and I have a 2013 FRS. I have been driving the FRS for more than 3 years now and I love it.

There may not be any gen2. Toyota/Subaru did not design this car for the mass market like Corolla or Impreza. If you check the sale number below, these cars are not making much money for the manufacturer other than helping with brand recognition. If the sales drop, they can cancel the twins anytime.

2015 sales in US
FR-S:10507, Corolla:363332
BRZ:5296, WRX/STI:33734, Impreza:100519

Oh wow.. the brz sales though.. the biggest thing I believe is power.. but again, I think most people buying the FRS are getting a better deal, since its mostly subie.. but I still think there will be a gen2 just to compete with the other brands, and well it might always be hyped, who knows..

I'm basically technology illiterate when it comes to forums, so please don't judge me.

Is there a search function somewhere?
I'm legit so confused as to how I should be navigating the forum to get to the right place.

It's easier to do on google, for example if you want to search headers put this in to the search bar on google;

headers ft86 site:www.ft86club.com

or just put ft86 at the end of every search term..

New owner here. But long long time lurker that just never registered. Been following the development and changes to the car over the years but just never could take the plunge till now. Was going to get one earlier in the year but ended up with a GTI which I actually liked very much.

Anyways, owner of the only Release Series 2.0 in Alaska. #640/1000. I will be sure to post in the 2.0 thread and get some pictures too soon.
