Not a rough morning. My son has REAL OCD and it is a pet peeve of mine when so many people misuse the term.

The first question was just that, a question, and was not meant to imply anything. There is no way the car should start without the main ground hooked up.

It's the wire in the second circle from the top. The bracket with the wire was hanging not bolted to the starter/transmission. Is it important?

Yes it is important.

I do not remember but my guess is the battery is bonded to the chassis and then to the engine. This means you had high current going from the cassis to the engine thru a lot of little wires/lines. Not a good thing but your car must have survived it.

Yes Tcoat is right if the battery ground was not hooked up nothing would happen!

Yes , the "talented technicians" and loose bolts.
My experience was loose tail shaft bolts after a new clutch install on a v8 commodore. The dealer said that the tail shaft was not touched and i had to buy new bolts and install them myself.
How does a clutch get replaced without removing the tail shaft?
The second was loose bolts on a torque converter when an auto transmission was replaced on my old ford, the mechanic admitted he stuffed up and fixed it for free.
Now if anyone works on my cars i double check for loose bolts myself.

It's the second red circle. It's on the passenger side bellhousing. It bolts on the bottom starter bolt. You can reach the wire from the engine bay. Just follow the one from the positive terminal down the area.

What is with Photobucket blurring their pics... And for that matter why not just use Imgur since they don't block and now blur the pics hosted on there.
Nevermind, just looked it up. Now they blur so you have to go to their site which has ads. Still would use Imgur since they never have played games like that.
