Radar Detectors

I've never had a radar detector but think it might be a good investment. Anyone have any recommendations? What should I be looking for?

I have a V1 w/the blendmount, V1 is only for the arrows. But the Escort Redline supposedly has the best detecting power.

I used to use a radar detector but don't anymore altho I still get from place to place just as fast as when I had used them.

Reason: Sheer experience.

The Waze app I have found helpful at times. I generally don't speed but I'll open it up sometimes through some turns on a backroads. If law enforcement is monitoring you without a warrant, I think you should be entitled to have technology that helps you understand that. I'm in VA where it's illegal to have one.

I installed a Bel STi-R Plus recently, love it.

The display is hidden behind the glass of the autodimming mirror (like the compass), the radar receiver is hidden behind the bumper facia. Pics can be seen here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25140

Also in VA but I'm willing to risk it. A radar ticket is a non-moving violation and doesn't hit your insurance, not to mention it's cheaper than a speeding ticket. Just get a quality detector like the Bel STi-R Plus, Escort 9500ci and you should be set. Fully immune to radar detector detectors, unlike the V1.
