It can be a matter of perspective.
I know we're probably not having "the debate", but honestly if (not saying I do!) I can carry 50mph+ through canyon corners and stay around 5-6k rpm in 3rd gear (with an oil cooler) then that is pretty dang fast.

It doesn't count if you're not blasting eurobeat.

Depends on the instructor. Most don't want you going 10/10's, but you are not out there to drive like a grandma either. You can drive within your limits and still be hauling ass. The difference in speed going 9/10's vs 10/10's is not very much, but the effort behind the wheel is.

Would it be bad if I admitted that I do that so much that if I have videos of my driving the backroads I am too ashamed to post them?

Yeah, we were specifically talking about straight line acceleration.

I just tell people that it's not a muscle car and that it's more about how it handles, blah blah...

I usually ask "depends, fast as what?" then answer their comparison.

Sigh, Haru has coccidia again, which he had like the first couple weeks I had him.

Hoping that's all it is, though. I didn't want him to deal with the shitty vet, so fortunately they let me just collect a poop sample and drop it off for testing yesterday.

A current model Civic Si pulled up alongside me a couple weeks back at a red light and the guy didn't believe me when I said what you said and that's RWD.

He then proceeded to try chasing me even though it's a surface street so I didn't oblige other than revving out 2nd gear to the speed limit (45mph) on our left turn at the intersection. He couldn't keep up .

I got over trying to explain the handling thing. I know guys with slammed Honda's who think their car handles awesome with the ebay coilovers, 60 chassis braces, and control arms they bought. You can usually tell the people that are really interested.
