Happy legalization day fellow Canadians. Doesn't feel like anything has really changed.

My mom texted me several times this morning to be extra careful on my way to work. She is thoroughly convinced there is going to be a huge increase of impaired drivers because of this. I highly doubt that, but do appreciate the sentiment.

Made it to work just fine, and I'm pretty certain the dense cloud of vapour I drove through on the way was just plain ole fog...

Oregon did this awhile back.

I "Highly" doubt things will change much at all!

The only real difference are the shops and advertising.

EDIT: This was post 3,420 for me! LOL

They have not legalized shops here. The only legal ways are to grow your own (4 plants per household NOT per person) or by internet mail order.
so at this point there technically is no "legal" pot on the streets since it was either grown prior to legislation or bought from an unauthorized source.

Welp, back-in-the-day, my buddies and I would stop in there at the country store (became Alice's), to get a soda and a candy bar. That's when they called that area "4 corners".

The cars. The history. To get a tee shirt.
The food I had was excellent but on the basic side (which is my preference) so the craft beer and drizzle crowd won't like it. As far as things like septic issue (sometime in the distant past most likely) or dirty stoves go you will find the same in some top tier 5 star restaurants.
It was cool to visit and I would like to go again sometime. (Hint hint Ultra and Ho)

BC has 1 authorized store (not in Vancouver surprisingly) and online sales as of today. Liquor distribution board is in charge of it here. Apparently 60+ licenses have been approved for stores but they need to pass at the municipal level before they can open their doors.

Yeah I bet some people may get into some surprise trouble (or likely just have it taken away) when they wrongly assume their illegally purchased weed became magically legal at the stroke of midnight.

I just hope the tax revenue goes to something useful.

I eat at Waffle House probably 3 times a week. Dirty stoves aren't exactly on the top of my culinary concerns list...

I may be a bit guilty of this one. If I'm coming up on stopped or really slow moving traffic on the highway (15-20 mph) and someone is behind me, I'll throw on the hazard lights for a few moments while slowing until I see the person behind me slow enough to know I'm not about to get hit. I don't leave them on while we're creeping along, though. That would just be annoying.

You mean you don't have confidence in our government to spend this extra money appropriately?? I'm sure Trudope has a plan, however hazy it may be.

Well I mean there is still the drive home... it's legal so that means everyone will be getting ripped at work all day now right?

That is different. It is the guy with them left on in fog or snow that bugs me.
Are they stopped on the shoulder? Are they moving? Have I gone off the road following them? What the hell is happening?
