If cars are going to have DRLs that are bright enough to drive by, then they also should be required to have automatic lights in general. I'm not one for mandated "features" but if you are going to do it, don't do it half ass.

OK, I feel better now.
I run across this at least once every time I drive in the dark. And the driver is always clueless when I and/or everyone else starts flashing their lights.

Not just the dark but also in heavy rain, snow or fog. People seem to think that they need to manually turn on the lights in these conditions since their systems are auto.
Well newsflash: Your auto lights do not always come on since the sun is "out".
It also seems that the cars running unlit are upscale and invariably white, grey or black so almost invisible until you are right on top of them.

I love the auto lights, but often have to switch to manual. The law here in Cal is if it is raining, your lights must be on.

I (Cough cough) called in sick. Going to go visit Mom this morning then go for a drive to Half Moon Bay and Pacifica and have lunch and watch some surfers.

So glad I'm retiring in june. I ducking hate going to work everyday. Don't get a government job.
Wow. Normally they wait until after someone more experienced retires to bring in a replacement fresh out of school with the the same expectations for less pay. Seems like they're getting a head start on it.

Hopefully June comes quickly, and not just because I don't like cold weather anymore.

Thanks. Good thing is it doesn't change anything monetarily for me and my retirement plans. It is just insulting. I was thinking of working till November 2019, but now June sounds good.

So next year will be stressful and a new adventure in life. Selling a home, moving to another state, NOT WORKING. all firsts for us. Scary and exciting at the same time.

Well, why we are at it, using flashers in inclement weather when you are moving is another! Flashers are for when you are stopped. In most places that is actually the law....
