Auto-lights malfunction?

I recently bought my brz about 2 months ago and everything is dandy. I recently put on a front license plate that attaches to the front tow hook and ever since then my auto-lights turn on during broad daylight. When i manually turn off and on the lights nothing is effected however when I drive with the lights on auto it would take up to 5 minutes of driving in broad daylight for them to come on. Very weird and minor just curious if anyone had similar experiences.

I guess thats part of my question, I am not sure where my light sensors are. This car is completely new and foreign to me.

It's part number 84088. It's a small black circle on the passenger side of your dashboard, near the windshield.

Look on the bright side. It was probably the easiest diagnosed and fixed problem to ever hit the forum.

Since we are on the subject, I notice that when I leave from my garage (lights in "auto" mode") that the lights stay on after being in the daylight. sometimes they eventually go off but often they stay on. If I manually turn them off, then put back into auto mode, they will stay off. Anyone else have this problem?

There's a bit of a delay so they don't flicker off and on as you drive under trees or through short tunnels. I don't know how long the delay is, it's possibly in the owners manual.
