I am going to miss this thread and all the other technical threads you posted. Whatever mod censored your opinion in the covid thread has shot this forum in the foot by doing so. I hope you save all your wonderful posts and will post them elsewhere!

Somone couldn't stand social discourse and deleted one of his posts with a dissenting opinion.

It's a tough call! I always thought of redacting like censoring

This was more of a self-retraction after getting his feelings hurt in spite of others than a need or desire to censor information because of the content of the information.

Redacted sounds cooler though.

it does, but if the forum is backed up the information could be restored.

Edit history of every post is available to mods. They could restore it if they wanted, but that amounts to an escalation of hostilities...

I think the thread was cool, and there was some information to be teased from the random anecdotes, but the thread was far from a how-to article, even though people asked for that. It wasn’t like anyone could just follow the steps in this thread to repeat the process. I guess what I am saying is that it is a shame things got petty because there was some entertaining stuff in this thread, but the content was far from educational, or rather, far from being comprehensive enough to be useful by any novice DIYer looking to tackle a similar project.

Agreed. I was just more entertained. Oh well.

I've done plenty of DIY articles over the years on different forums. I think there is a NA-T turbo writeup on Supraforums from back in 2003 that is still archived, which I still get PM's about, but I'm sure the pictures are broken, as I haven't gone there for years. Several write-ups here were broken when the Photobucket "event" happened, so the pictures are gone, but the words are there. Some of it is on the old banned account. I help whenever I can, and I hold nothing back when asked.

I don't know what is funny. Several people asked if you would be willing to make a writeup. I never saw a reply unless I missed it. Some people aren't good at wiring. Some don't know ECUTEK well or whatever. Some might be able to do all the steps like installing something like a turbo kit that has instructions, but can't do it on their own without instructions, so they need a writeup. Is that a bad thing that some people don't magically poses knowledge or don't have the means or knowledge set to experiment on their car or have a lot of down time to experiment? Are you here to help or just to gloat?

I think a K24 swap would be cool, but I live in California. The best I could do is swap in a newer motor or try to get the block from the FA24 into my car undetected, but I am not really even thinking about a swap. I have nursing school starting next fall, so I am hanging onto my car for a while, but I bet there are several people here who don't have good paying jobs, who might benefit from a writeup for a cheap swap solution, but maybe that was too much to ask from you. It's ok. You can't censor what never existed.
